A product of the Mediterranean Association of International Schools, Reina O’ Hale, Director
Integrates hands-on science, mathematics, and reading for K-6 students
Involves students in high-interest concrete activities
Stresses real-world connections to school, careers, and life
Keyed to standards: Project AERO, National Science Education Standards, Math Standards, Language Arts Standards
Sensitive to the needs of ESL and ESOL children
Coordinated with local school curricula

 

Teacher leaders prepared at annual MAIS conferences

Initially includes schools from eight Mediterranean countries
A two-year project including preparation, information, implementation, and dissemination phases
Designed for MAIS schools but has worldwide applications to international schools
